KARACHI: National Refinery Limited (NRL) has received approval from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) to export 60,000 metric tonnes of high-sulphur furnace oil (HSFO) during June 2026.

According to an official notification issued by Ogra, the approval was granted following a recommendation by the National Committee on Monitoring Committee (NCMC). The export authorisation is subject to the fulfilment of domestic market requirements in line with the approved refinery plan.

The regulator also advised NRL to maximise its loading flow rate to ensure the vessel sails within the designated discharge window. The approval reflects ongoing efforts by the energy sector to manage surplus furnace oil inventories while ensuring that domestic supply obligations continue to be met.NRL is one of Pakistan’s major refining companies, supplying petroleum products to domestic and international markets and supporting the country’s energy security objectives.
