KARACHI: YTO-HRL Logistics, a joint venture between China’s YTO Express and Pakistan’s HRL Group, has launched operations in Pakistan, marking the start of a logistics partnership aimed at supporting trade, e-commerce and cross-border supply chains, a statement said on Thursday.
The venture, announced through a memorandum of understanding signed in Beijing last year, will provide services including express delivery, warehousing, freight transport and e-commerce fulfilment.
The launch ceremony was attended by Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi, Minister for Industries and Production Haroon Akhtar Khan, business leaders and diplomats from several countries.
Speaking at the event, Abbasi said improvements in logistics and freight connectivity could help reduce costs and enhance Pakistan’s competitiveness. He also highlighted the potential role of the railways in supporting cargo movement between ports, industrial zones and logistics hubs.
The partnership combines YTO Express’ logistics technology and international operations experience with HRL Group’s local infrastructure and distribution network. Representatives from several Central Asian and regional countries attended the launch.
