QUETTA: The hearing of a petition filed against what was described as a “false, fabricated and illegal” FIR registered against Opposition Leader in the National Assembly and Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party Chairman Mahmood Khan Achakzai was held on Thursday, June 4, 2026.
The case was heard by a division bench of the Balochistan High Court (BHC) headed by Chief Justice Kamran Khan Mulakhail.
During the proceedings, the court accepted the constitutional petition filed by Mahmood Khan Achakzai for regular hearing and suspended the implementation of the contested FIR. The court also issued notices to the government for the next hearing.
According to details, the case was represented by the Pakhtunkhwa Lawyers Forum along with senior lawyers from Balochistan, including Advocate Riaz Ahmad Khan, Senator Kamran Murtaza, Advocate Habibullah Nasir, Advocate Naimatullah Achakzai, Jahangir Khan Mandokhail, Advocate Hazrat Umar, Advocate Asad Khan Achakzai, Balochistan Bar Council member Ayaz Mandokhail, Bar Council member Rahib Baledi, and Advocate Abdul Hakeem Zarin of the Insaf Lawyers Forum, among others.
A large number of lawyers were present in the courtroom during the hearing.
