QUETTA: Four police personnel were abducted by unidentified armed men along with their official weapons in the Kontani Hor area near the Pakistan-Iran maritime border in Gwadar on Thursday, police said.

According to police officials, the kidnapped personnel were identified as Niaz Ahmed, Shoaib, Ehsan, and Sajid Ali. The armed assailants allegedly took the policemen along with their government-issued weapons and fled to an unknown location.

Police sources said the incident occurred after the officers intercepted a Zamyad vehicle carrying Afghan nationals who had reportedly entered Pakistan illegally. The personnel informed the in-charge of Kontani police post, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Musaddiq Ali, about the detention. The ASI reportedly instructed them to bring the occupants of the vehicle to the police station for further action.

However, shortly afterward, contact with the four policemen was lost. Later, a photograph circulated on social media indicating that the officers had been abducted by unidentified armed men along with their official vehicle and weapons.
