Electricity is a basic necessity of modern life, yet the residents of New Nazar Muhalla near the police post in Larkana continue to endure an alarming and prolonged power crisis. For months, the area has been subjected to an excessive 18-to-20 hours of loadshedding daily, leaving the inhabitants in a state of distress and frustration. In the prevailing heatwave conditions and enormously high temperatures, the absence of electricity has become not merely an inconvenience but a serious threat to public well-being. The continued indifference of the concerned authorities has further aggravated public resentment. The responsibility for this persistent crisis rests with the failure of the power authorities to ensure a reliable power supply.
Such prolonged outages undermine public confidence in service delivery and raise serious questions regarding accountability and governance. It is imperative that the relevant authorities take immediate notice of this pressing issue. A thorough inquiry should be conducted into the causes of the excessive loadshedding and those responsible for negligence must be held accountable. More importantly, practical measures should be adopted to restore an uninterrupted and equitable power supply to the area.
