IHC issues notices to CDA chairman, others in contempt case

ISLAMABAD:The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday issued notices to the Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), the Director General Enforcement, and others in a contempt of court petition filed over disciplinary action taken against guest houses despite a court order restraining such measures.Justice Muhammad Asif heard the contempt petition filed by Majid Amin.

Advocate Zulfiqar Ahmed Bhatta appeared before the court and argued that the petitions of 13 guest house applicants are pending before the court, and that the court had already restrained disciplinary action against the guest houses. Despite the court order, the CDA issued show-cause notices to the guest house petitioners, the counsel submitted. He requested the court to take action against the CDA Chairman and others for allegedly violating court orders. The court issued notices to the respondents, seeking their replies, and adjourned further hearing of the case.
