Rawalpindi:A 43-year-old woman lost her life after suffering an electric shock while washing clothes with a washing machine on the premises of Al-Shifa Hospital on Chakri Road, Rawalpindi.

According to spokesperson of Rescue 1122, the victim, identified as Hafiza Bibi, was using a washing machine when she suddenly received a severe electric shock. The incident left her unconscious at the scene. Upon receiving the emergency call, a Rescue 1122 ambulance was dispatched immediately.

However, rescuers found that the woman had already succumbed to her injuries. Emergency personnel performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and other life-saving measures in an attempt to revive her, but their efforts were unsuccessful.

The body was later shifted to Rawalpindi Teaching Hospital for legal and medical formalities. Authorities have not yet released further details regarding the cause of the electrical fault, and an investigation is expected to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
