Islamabad:At least four people were killed and four others injured in a tragic road accident involving a speeding car in Bhara Kahu area on Sunday, police said.
According to police officials, the accident occurred at Athal Chowk, where a high-speed car rammed into two vehicles and several motorcycles, causing multiple casualties and injuries. Rescue teams and police personnel rushed to the scene and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. The condition of some of the injured was not immediately known.
Police confirmed that four people lost their lives in the collision, while four others sustained injuries. The driver of the car fled the scene after the accident. Authorities have taken the vehicle into custody and launched an investigation to trace and arrest the driver. Further legal proceedings are underway.
Meanwhile, the Islamabad Police have arrested the main suspect involved in the deadly traffic accident that occurred in Bhara Kahu on Saturday night, police spokesperson said. According to police, the accused, identified as Wasiq, fled the scene immediately after the accident.
However, law enforcement authorities successfully traced and apprehended him within a few hours of the incident. Police confirmed that a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered at Bhara Kahu Police Station, and a formal investigation is underway.
Investigators have obtained CCTV footage of the incident along with other crucial evidence. Officials said the case will be pursued on the basis of solid evidence to ensure a transparent investigation and bring those responsible to justice. Islamabad Police reiterated their commitment to providing justice to the victims and their families through a thorough and impartial investigation.
