LALAMUSA: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf President Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has said Pakistan is passing through a deeply sensitive and critical period in which political stability, economic recovery, and national unity have become the most pressing need of the hour.

Speaking to journalists in Gujrat on Saturday, Elahi paid tribute to the martyrs of the armed forces and security agencies, saying that their sacrifices demand that all stakeholders rise above personal interests. “Their blood has made Pakistan a fortress of Islam. The nation will always remember them.”

He urged political forces and state institutions to promote tolerance, dialogue and constitutional supremacy to pull the country out of its current crisis. “Politics of hatred, revenge and division serves no one’s interest,” he said, adding that mutual respect and national harmony are the only way forward.

On Imran Khan’s health and his family affairs, Elahi said the matter should not be politicised. “No civilized society allows this,” he said, directing his remarks at the ruling parties. “Generations do not remember rulers who leave behind a legacy of revenge. Do things that people remember you for in good words.”

Elahi warned the government against any move to recognise Israel, invoking the Quaid-i-Azam’s categorical position on the matter. “This is fitna,” he said. “If Israel is recognised, people will be on the streets and it will be the last day of these rulers.” He said the PTI, as the country’s largest political party, would continue its struggle for democratic rights, rule of law and a dignified Pakistan in line with Imran Khan’s vision. He hopes for a Pakistan where the youth have opportunities,

investors have confidence, and every citizen has access to justice.
