Eidul Azha celebrated in KP with religious fervour

PESHAWAR: Eidul Azha was celebrated in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with religious zeal and fervour.Congregational prayers were offered at Eidgahs and other main mosques in the provincial metropolis and elsewhere in the province.

The main congregational prayer was offered at the Mughal-era, Eidgah, in Faqirabad, on Charsadda Road. Chief Khateeb of KP, Maulana Muhammad Tayyab Qureshi, led the prayers. The people sacrificed animals as per Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

The families flocked to the public parks and other recreational places to enjoy the Eid festivities on the second and third days of the festival.Governor Faisal Karim Kundi and offered eid prayers at Jamia Masjid Muhammadiyah in his native Kookar village in Dera Ismail Khan. After the Eid prayers, the governor prayed for Pakistan’s progress, stability, peace in Khyber Pakh­tunkhwa, and prosperity of the province. He later mingled with worshippers, exchanged Eid greetings, and inquired about their well-being.

Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi offered eid prayers at Bagh-e-Naran in Hayatabad. Extending Eid greetings to the nation, particularly the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he said Eidul Azha conveyed the message of sacrifice, compassion, love and service to humanity.

He urged affluent people to include poor and deserving families in their Eid celebrations so that the joy of Eid could reach every segment of society. The chief minister also appealed to citizens to ensure cleanliness after animal sacrifices and fully cooperate with the relevant authorities to help maintain a clean and healthy environment.

On the second day of Eid, Sohail Afridi visited his native district of Khyber, where he met local elders, party workers and residents.People from different areas called on the chief minister, extended Eid greetings and conveyed their good wishes.

During the meetings, the chief minister listened to public issues and directed the relevant authorities to resolve them.Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Syed Fakhar Jehan spent Eidul Azha among prisoners, patients, orphan children and the public during visits to various institutions in Buner, reflecting the spirit of compassion, public service and social responsibility on the festive occasion.

The minister visited District Jail Daggar in Buner, where he met inmates, exchanged Eid greetings with them and shared moments of joy on Eidul Azha. Syed Fakhar Jehan inquired about issues relating to facilities and welfare of the prisoners. Later, the minister visited District Headquarters Hospital Daggar and met patients undergoing treatment in different wards of the hospital. He met patients and their attendants, asked about the medical facilities being provided to them and conveyed Eid greetings.

Syed Fakhar Jehan directed the hospital administration and medical staff to ensure timely and better healthcare facilities for patients. The provincial minister visited Aman Kor, where he spent time with orphan children and shared Eid celebrations with them. The children expressed happiness and affection during their interaction with the minister.
