The Sindh Rangers arrested two alleged members of the notorious Jabal gang during an operation in the Baghdadi area of Lyari, recovering weapons, ammunition and mobile phones from their possession.
A Rangers spokesperson said the operation was carried out on the basis of intelligence reports. Irfan, alias Jabal, and Danish Hussain, alias Dani Don, were arrested with a 9mm pistol, a 30-bore pistol, ammunition and two mobile phones.
Officials said Irfan is the alleged gang leader who, along with accomplices, had been involved in multiple cases of robbery, street crime, target killing, extortion and drug trafficking in Mehmoodabad, Chanesar Goth and the surrounding areas.
The spokesperson said that more than 25 FIRs had been registered against the suspects at various police stations across the city. Danish was described as the frontman for the gang. Officials said Irfan had previously been arrested by police and had served time in jail. Raids are under way to apprehend the other members of the gang.
