Rawalpindi: Regional Police Officer (RPO) Babar Sarfraz Alpa and City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani here Monday visited cattle markets and various parts of the city to review security and traffic arrangements ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
SP Pothohar Sardar Babar Mumtaz Khan, DSP Cantt Khalid Mehmood and other police officers accompanied them during the visit. The senior police officials inspected security measures and issued necessary directions to officers on duty.
City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani said that more than 250 police officers and personnel have been deployed to ensure security at cattle markets, while over 100 traffic officers are performing duties to maintain smooth traffic flow around the markets.
The CPO stated that foolproof security and traffic arrangements were being ensured for the convenience and safety of citizens. He added that police mobiles, Dolphin Force and Elite Force teams were conducting regular patrolling around the cattle markets. Special monitoring of bus terminals, hotels and inns is also underway, he added.
Speaking on the occasion, CPO Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani said that a comprehensive security plan had been prepared for mosques, imambargahs, Eidgahs and other important public places during Eid-ul-Azha. RPO Babar Sarfraz Alpa said that all possible measures were being taken to maintain peace and ensure the protection of citizens during the Eid holidays. He added that coordinated security and traffic arrangements would be implemented across the city to facilitate residents.
