Islamabad:Islamabad Police has finalised a comprehensive security plan for Eid-ul-Azha under which more than 7,000 police officers and personnel will perform security duties across the federal capital during the Eid holidays.
An official told APP on Monday that Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi chaired a high-level meeting to review security arrangements for Eid days, cattle markets, mosques, Eidgahs and public places.
The official said over 450 traffic police officers would also remain deployed across the city to ensure smooth flow of traffic during Eid. During the meeting, all zonal officers were directed to remain present in their respective areas and personally monitor security and policing arrangements.
IGP Rizvi directed officers to further strengthen security at Faisal Mosque and all mosques and Eidgahs across the capital. He said special traffic squads would be deployed to maintain uninterrupted traffic flow, while vigilant Capital Patrol personnel would continue patrolling in different areas of the city.
