LAHORE:Police in Lytton Road arrested five suspects for allegedly attacking a polio team and resisting police officials.
According to police, the suspects attempted to stop the team from administering polio drops, subjected them to violence, and issued death threats. Upon receiving a call on Helpline 15, police reached the scene, where the suspects also resisted law enforcement personnel. Police rescued the detained polio worker and registered a case against the accused under relevant sections. DIG Operations Faisal Kamran stated that attacks on government officials, resistance to police, and obstruction of public health campaigns will not be tolerated. He emphasised that polio workers are national heroes and their protection will be ensured at all costs.
