Rawalpindi : The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) has announced that no water shortage during Eid-ul-Azha, as comprehensive arrangements have been put in place to ensure the uninterrupted supply of water across the city.

According to an official told APP, all relevant field staff will remain on high alert throughout the Eid holidays to promptly address complaints related to water supply and sewerage systems.

The official said that faulty tube wells will be repaired within 24 hours, while additional vehicles and pumping machinery have been placed on standby to deal with any emergency situation.

He added that special measures are underway for the cleaning of sewerage lines, prevention of gutter overflows, and covering of manholes to ensure smooth drainage during the festive period.

Water supply and sewerage officers have been designated as focal persons during the Eid holidays to supervise complaint cells and ensure swift response to any emergency, the official further stated.

Citizens have been advised to avoid disposing of sacrificial waste into drains and instead use waste bins provided by the Rawalpindi Waste Management Company, in order to prevent disruption to the drainage system.

WASA has also urged residents to immediately report any complaints by contacting the nearest complaint centre or calling its toll-free helpline 1334.
