A 30-year-old man was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Mominabad area on Friday, while a woman was injured by a stray bullet in Surjani Town.
According to police, the incident took place in Farid Colony, where unidentified motorcycle-riding suspects opened fire on Fahad, son of Zaheer, leaving him critically injured. He was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
According to SHO Shahbaz Yousuf, the deceased worked as a bean cart vendor. He had contracted two marriages and was sitting at his cart when the attackers targeted him before fleeing the scene.
During the initial investigation, Fahad had ongoing disputes with the family of his second wife. The police also revealed that the victim’s sister had left her home and was living with him, leading to tensions with her in-laws as well. The police said investigations were underway from multiple angles to ascertain the motive behind the killing.
In a separate incident, a 40-year-old woman identified as Fauzia, wife of Shahid, sustained injuries after being hit by a stray bullet near Shadab Flats in Surjani Town. She was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical treatment.
