LAHORE : The Lahore Police Investigation Wing has solved the blind murder case of a young woman, Mehrosh, in the Kahna area, with her husband arrested as the suspect.
The investigation team, led by the Incharge Investigation of Kahna Police Station, conducted an operation and apprehended the suspect.
Police officials stated that the accused confessed to killing his wife due to domestic disputes by suffocating her with a pillow. After the murder, he transported the body on a motorcycle and disposed of it in Rohi Nullah under the cover of darkness. The suspect later attempted to mislead authorities by staging a kidnapping and got registered a case against unidentified persons. Police said the suspect was arrested using modern technology and human intelligence.
Three arrested in abuse cases
Wahdat Colony Police arrested three accused, including a stepfather, in separate cases of abuse against girls. Cases have been registered, and the suspects have been handed over for further investigation.
Meanwhile, Masti Gate Police arrested two drug dealers and recovered 15kg poppy husk and 1.13kg hashish. Cases have been registered. Besides, Harbanspura Police arrested a suspect and recovered six drums of gutka and raw material during a raid on a warehouse. A case has been registered. Tibbi City Police arrested two suspects and recovered more than 50 bottles of liquor. Cases have been registered.
127 suspects arrested
Dolphin Squad arrested 127 suspects, including 19 proclaimed offenders, during operations across the city in the last 72 hours. Security has been placed on high alert ahead of Eid.
Imposter held
Green Town Police arrested a man for impersonating a police officer and allegedly extorting money from citizens. A case has been registered.
