LANDIKOTAL: At least 18 people, including men, women, and children, were injured after lightning struck a house in the remote Bazaar Zakhakhel area of Landikotal Tehsil of the Khyber district, police sources said on Wednesday.
According to police, the lightning struck the house of a local resident identified as Khan Afridi in the Inai Chakarkhel locality, causing panic and injuring several members of the family as well as nearby residents.
Soon after the incident, local residents and rescue teams shifted the injured to a nearby hospital, where they were provided medical treatment.
Hospital sources said that all injured persons were later discharged after receiving first aid and necessary care.
Following the incident, the Station House Officer of Bazaar Zakhakhel Police Station, Haji Afridi, accompanied by police personnel, visited the affected house to assess the situation and inquire about the health of the injured.
