Water and power

Karachi’s residents are struggling with two basic necessities – water and electricity. In many neighbourhoods, clean water rarely reaches homes through pipelines, forcing families to spend on expensive water tankers just to survive daily life. This is an added burden on households already dealing with rising costs. At the same time, electricity loadshedding continues to disrupt routines, education and small businesses. Bills keep rising but the supply remains unreliable. Ordinary citizens are paying more and receiving less.

The authorities must stop ignoring this. Investment in water infrastructure and a serious plan to end loadshedding are long overdue. People cannot keep adjusting their lives around broken systems. Karachi deserves better than this.
