BARA: Five people sustained injuries in an alleged quadcopter strike in the remote area of Tirah Valley in Bara tehsil of the Khyber tribal district on Thursday, sources said.
The incident reportedly took place in Shadalo of Akakhel area of Tirah Valley, where a suspected drone strike from an unidentified direction hit the locality, leaving five persons wounded. Soon after the incident, local people shifted the injured to Frontier Corps Teaching Hospital in Shahkas where they were provided medical treatment.
Those injured were identified as Owais, son of Musa, 18; Zaid Gul, son of Samar Jan, 17; Jamshed, son of Khan Wali, 20; Khalid, son of Javed Khan, 22; and Imdad, son of Qudrat Khan, 19.
The hospital sources said all the injured were under treatment and their condition was stated to be stable.The incident created panic and fear in the area, prompting elders and residents to demand an immediate and transparent investigation from the district administration and relevant security officials.
