HARIPUR: “Baat shanasai ki”, a book authored by Prof Dr Abdul Muhaiman’s , was launched here on Thursday.
District Police Officer Shafi Ullah Khan Gandapur was guest of honour while Ms Fozia Taj, Commandant of the Prison Academy, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, presided over the ceremony.Members of academia, civil society organizations, transgenders and government officials were in attendance on this occasion.
Sharing the introduction to his fifth Urdu book, Dr Muhaiman, a professor of Islamic Studies at the University of Haripur, said that he borrowed the title from the famous verse of late poet Parveen Shakir, “Koo bakoo phail gaee baat shanasaee ki-Us ne khushbu ki traha meri pazeerai ki,” and utilized his research-based intellectual efforts to elucidate the true status of a woman as per the teachings of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Holy Quran. Ms Fozia Taj and DPO Shafi Ullah Khan Gandapur were among those who shared views about the book and the role of a woman in shaping the future of societies.
