Sindh Minister for Local Government, Housing & Town Planning Department Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said on Tuesday the Sindh Building Control Authority is moving steadily toward a modern, transparent, and technology-driven regulatory system through backend automation, digital integration, and institutional reforms.

In his statement, he said that following the successful launch of the Single Window Facility in Karachi and Hyderabad, the SBCA has taken another major step toward digital transformation by automating backend processes for all types of construction permits. He said this initiative is aimed at ensuring transparency, improving service delivery, reducing delays, and facilitating citizens, builders, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders connected with the construction sector.

The minister said that under the vision of Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and under the leadership and direction of Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, the Government of Sindh is committed to introducing reforms that make public institutions more efficient, accountable, accessible, and responsive to the needs of the people. He said that digitization of public services is an important part of the Sindh government’s broader reform agenda, which focuses on ease of doing business, transparency in approvals, and better governance through technology.

Shah said the SBCA has successfully integrated its software system with Sindh Business One Stop Shop, SBOSS, within the stipulated timeline, in line with the Cabinet’s decision. He said the formal signing of the User Acceptance Test, UAT, between SBCA and SBOSS is an important milestone toward the operationalization of the integrated digital platform. The SBCA has also initiated the procurement process for the required hardware in accordance with SPPRA rules, to ensure proper technical support for the effective implementation and smooth operation of the digital system.
