The Directorate of College Education Karachi Region has imposed a complete ban on cutting trees in government colleges and issued strict directives against unauthorized disposal of scrap material and encroachments on college land.

According to an official notification issued by Regional Director Colleges Karachi Gulab Rai, all principals of government colleges in Karachi region have been directed to ensure that no tree planted on college premises is cut down under any circumstances and that green spaces are properly maintained.

The notification stated that in line with the policy of the Sindh government’s College Education Department, tree cutting in government colleges had been completely prohibited for environmental conservation and protection of green spaces.

The directive further said that no scrap material or government property available in colleges could be disposed of without obtaining prior approval from the competent authority. The directorate also instructed college administrations to immediately report any attempt of land grabbing or encroachment on college premises to the deputy commissioner and the director of the Anti-Encroachment Cell, while keeping the directorate informed.
