China and Pakistan have stood together in every difficult time, says CG

Chinese Consul General Yang Yundong has said that the 75th anniversary of Pak-China diplomatic ties represented not only diplomatic relations but also decades of trust, sincerity and mutual support between the two countries.

“China and Pakistan have stood together in every difficult time,” he said addressing the event to celebrate 75 Pakistan-China diplomatic relations anniversary at Arts Council of Pakistan. “This is why the relations between China and Pakistan have become even stronger and deeper over time,” he said.

Consul General Yang stressed the importance of expanding cooperation in education, science, innovation and the digital economy, saying young people would play a vital role in shaping future ties between the two countries.

Director General Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Irfan Soomro praised China’s development journey and said Pakistan could learn from its long-term planning and investment in human resources.

He also described the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor as an important step toward economic modernization and shared prosperity. Soomro commended the Arts Council for promoting diplomacy through culture, literature, music and cinema, saying Karachi was increasingly emerging as a global cultural hub.

The ceremony concluded with bouquet presentations by Mohammad Ahmed Shah to Chinese Consul General Yang Yundong and Director General Irfan Soomro on behalf of the Arts Council.

The event was attended by Consul General Yang Yundong as chief guest. A large number of guests gathered to celebrate the enduring relationship between Islamabad and Beijing. A cake-cutting ceremony was also held to mark the 75th anniversary celebrations.

Guests later attended the screening of “The Shadow Chaser,” featuring renowned actor Jackie Chan. Among those present were Vice Consul General of China Feng Daheng, Vice Consul Li Chong, Consul General of Indonesia Mudzakir, Consul General of Sri Lanka Sanjeewa Pattivila, Consul General of Türkiye Ergul Kadak and other diplomatic representatives and citizens who gathered to celebrate the long-standing friendship between Islamabad and Beijing.
