Ziauddin University confers degrees on 1,542 graduates

Ziauddin University (ZU) awarded 1,542 degrees to graduating students across various disciplines at the graduation ceremony 2026, held at Ziauddin Family Park, Clifton, Karachi.

At Ziauddin University’s Graduation Ceremony 2026, degrees were conferred upon graduates from a diverse range of disciplines, including Medicine, Dental Surgery, Podiatric Medicine, Pharm.D, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Education Health and Sports Science, Medical Technology, Biomedical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biotechnology, Business Administration, Electrical Engineering Technology, Biomedical Engineering Technology, Food Science Technology, Management & Technology, Data Science, Communication & Media Studies, Digital Media Marketing, Internet of Things, Audiology & Speech Language Therapy, Nursing (BSN and Post-RN BScN), Law, Clinical Psychology, English Studies, Human Nutrition & Dietetics, Eastern Medicine & Surgery, and B.Ed (Hons) Elementary. The ceremony also honoured postgraduate candidates with MS, MD, M.Phil, and Ph.D. degrees.

Addressing the graduating students as chief guest, Justice Zafar Ahmed Rajput, Chief Justice of the High Court of Sindh, said, “Any profession you choose is not only a duty but a moral responsibility that demands compassion, integrity, and the highest ethical standards. People do not seek expertise alone; they seek reassurance, empathy, and trust. Your words, conduct, and character will often carry as much value as your professional expertise. You are entering an era of rapid advancement in science and technology”.

Reflecting on the evolving landscape of technology, the chief guest advised the graduates, “As you step into a rapidly advancing world, remain mindful that innovation must always be guided by ethics. Use your knowledge responsibly, ensure fair and equitable access to opportunities and services, and never lose sight of the human element in your profession. True success will come not only from technical excellence but from lifelong learning and service to humanity with integrity and compassion”.

While awarding the Sir Ziauddin Gold Medals, Prof. Dr. Nida Hussain, Pro-Chancellor, Ziauddin University, highlighted the university’s expanding national presence, noting its growing footprint in Lahore and Sukkur, and the planned expansion to Islamabad as Federal Ziauddin University.

Praising the graduates, she stated, “This is not just the end of your academic journey but the beginning of your responsibility. Carry forward the trust of your families and society with integrity, compassion, and purpose. Let your knowledge serve others, and move ahead with both confidence and humility.”

In his welcome address, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali Shaikh, Vice Chancellor, Ziauddin University, commended the graduating students on their remarkable achievement and advised them, stating, “Your future stands ready to welcome you with open arms. As you step forward, always remember your parents, whose sacrifices and guidance have brought you to this milestone, and continue to respect your elders. Live your own life with purpose, nurture your relationships and friendships, and carry with you the strength to forgive.”

At the convocation ceremony, prestigious Sir Ziauddin Ahmed gold medals were awarded to outstanding graduates in recognition of their academic excellence, including Gautam Dawani (MBBS), Fatima Rasool (BDS), Sarina Muhammad Miraj (Doctor of Physical Therapy), Nihaan Momin (Doctor of Occupational Therapy), Zarmeena Khalid (Clinical Psychology), Amna Murtaza (Human Nutrition & Dietetics), Zoha Sohail (Medical Technology), Sauda Hussain Binte Abu Waleed (Doctor of Podiatric Medicine), Fatimah Amanullah (Audiology and Speech Language Therapy), Rabeea Kamran (Eastern Medicine and Surgery), Inaara Alnoor (Biomedical Engineering), Muhammad Mujtaba Farhan (Civil Engineering), Areeba Zafar (Software Engineering), Muhammad Arham Butt (Electrical Engineering), Hadia Hussain Khan (Biotechnology), Anas Niaz (BBA), Danish Raza (Electrical Engineering Technology), Maria (Food Science and Technology), Shoaib Kamran (LL.B.), Noor Arslan (Communication and Media Sciences), Sadia Zafar (Nursing), and Hafsa Fatima (Pharm.D).

Four special awards were presented in recognition of outstanding achievements. The “Best Teacher Award” was presented to Dr. Saifullah, Associate Professor and Principal, College of Management Sciences. The “Dr. Aijaz Fatima Memorial Award” was conferred upon Dr. Samina Kemal, the “Dr. Tajamul Hussain Memorial Award” the “Chancellor Award” was presented to Professor Dr. Nuzhat Hassan.

Degrees were conferred upon students from various disciplines during the four-day Graduation Week 2026 celebrations at Ziauddin University by distinguished guests, including Rehan Hanif, President, Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI); Muhammad Zubair Motiwala, former President, KCCI; Aslam Sanjrani, former Chief Secretary; Javed Ali Jagirani, CEO, PPHI Sindh; Zahid Ali Abbasi, Secretary, School Education & Literacy Department, Government of Sindh; Naveed Ahmed Soomro, District & Sessions Judge; and Dr. Salimah Walani, Dean, School of Nursing & Midwifery, Aga Khan University.
