One suspected robber was killed and another arrested in injured condition after an exchange of fire with police near the Siddiqabad Graveyard in the Kumharwara area of New Karachi on Sunday.
According to police, the encounter took place within the jurisdiction of the New Karachi Industrial Area police station in Sector 6-B where police and armed suspects exchanged gunfire.
During the operation, one suspect was killed on the spot while another was apprehended in a wounded state. Two other accomplices managed to escape the scene. Police recovered two 30-bore pistols with loaded magazines and a motorcycle from the possession of the suspects. The deceased and injured suspects were shifted to a hospital, and efforts are under way to confirm their identities and verify their criminal record.
