A woman was allegedly murdered by her drug-addicted brother inside a house in the Orangi Town area, police said on Sunday.
The incident took place in Islamia Colony, Qasba Colony, within the jurisdiction of the Pirabad police station. Police reached the scene after receiving information and called the crime scene unit to collect evidence.
The body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities and post-mortem examination. Pirabad SHO Siraj Khattak identified the deceased as 35-year-old Hawiya, daughter of Bakht Zameen. Police said the woman was married and had come to visit her parental home.
According to the SHO, the victim was killed by her brother, Baizwar, who is said to be a dug addict. The suspect fled the scene after the incident. Police suspect the woman may have been strangled or electrocuted to death. Raids are being conducted for the arrest of the suspect
