Seven people were killed and six others, including a policeman, were injured in traffic accidents in different areas of the city on Saturday.
A man riding a motorcycle died and a policeman was injured when a water tanker hit them on Sharea Faisal near the Karsaz PSO Petrol Pump in the Bahadurabad area. The deceased shifted to Jinnah Hospital.
According to the police, the deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Fazalullah, son of Abdul Wahab. The deceased was a resident of Baloch Colony.
The deceased’s brother Hakimullah said their family belonged to Bajaur area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and they he had been running a hotel under the Baloch Colony bridge. The deceased was the father of two children.
The police said that the driver of the water tanker was fleeing after the accident when the policeman, Abdul Rahman, chased and caught him.
Near the Razaqabad Police Training Center on the National Highway in Shah Latif Town, a tanker driver rammed his vehicle into a motorcycle, leaving the motorcyclist dead.
The body of the victim was shifted to Jinnah Hospital where he was identified as 40-year-old Roman Ali, son of Karim Bakhsh. The driver responsible for the accident managed to escape from the scene, while the tanker was impounded.
A passerby died after being hit by a water tanker near the Site Area Habib Chowrangi in the Site A police limits. His body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
SHO Mir Muhammad Lashari said the deceased was identified as 50-year-old Muhammad Rizwan, son of Muhammad Anwar. He was a resident of Muslim League Quarter Nazimabad No. 1. The police arrested the driver, Faqir Muhammad, son of Jahanzeb, and impounded the water tanker.
A woman died after being hit by an unknown vehicle in Magsi Goth located behind Anwar Baloch Hotel in Malir City on the National Highway. The deceased was identified as 60-year-old Hasina, wife of Mehram. She was a resident of Magsi Goth.
The deceased’s family told the police in their statement that the woman had left her home to buy medicine when she was hit by an unknown vehicle and died on the spot. According to the residents of the area, the deceased was a beggar.
A speeding motorcycle crashed into a wall near Shershah Dalda Company in the Site B area, resulting in the death of the 22-year-old motorcyclist. No identity documents were found on the deceased.
Another person died in a traffic accident near Korangi Singer Chowrangi, Darul Uloom, and his body was taken to Jinnah Hospital, where the deceased was identified as 32-year-old Abdul Basit. He was riding a motorcycle when a collision with an unknown vehicle occurred.
An unknown 40-year-old man died after being hit by an unknown vehicle near Jamali Pul Dua Restaurant on the Super Highway in the Site Super Highway Industrial Area.
Five people were injured in a traffic accident near Lucky Cement Factory on the Superhighway. According to Edhi officials, the injured were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. According to initial reports, the accident occurred as a result of a collision between a Shehzor truck and a pickup truck.
After the incident, Nooriabad police reached the spot and collected evidence; however, the identities of the injured has not been identified yet.

The body of 25-year-old Shoaib Siddique, son of Muhammad Siddique, was found in a house near Street No. 29, Sector C, Manzoor Colony, Mahmoodabad.
The body of a 35-year-old unidentified man was found near Malir’s Memon Goth.
Meanwhile, the body of a 50-year-old unidentified man was found on the footpath near Jamia Cloth Sabri Nihari in Aram Bagh. The body of a 40-year-old unidentified man was found on the footpath near Bhains Colony’s Double Road in Sukhun.
