The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) organised a massive public demonstration outside the Karachi Press Club on Saturday to mark the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq (Battle of Truth), with party leaders expressing unwavering solidarity with Pakistan’s armed forces and declaring the country’s defence unconquerable.
The gathering drew a large number of participants and echoed with chants of Pakistan Zindabad, as speakers hailed the armed forces for what they described as a historic military success against hostile designs.
Addressing the rally, MQM-P Chairman Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said freedom is a great blessing bestowed by Almighty Allah, and Pakistan has written an unforgettable chapter in history over the past year in defence of its sovereignty.
Dr Siddiqui said the enemy had dared to impose war upon Pakistan, but the duration, intensity and outcome of the conflict was ultimately determined by the Pakistani state itself.
He praised the leadership of Field Marshal Asim Munir, saying that the Pakistan Army, the Pakistan Air Force and the Pakistan Navy had demonstrated extraordinary courage and strategic wisdom that not only defended the country but also prevented wider regional devastation.
Dr Siddiqui said that Pakistan’s defence is now stronger, more stable and more resolute than ever before, adding that independence is not a concession but an unshakable reality. He said that the enemy’s arrogance has been reduced to dust, and that the nation’s defensive strength remains invincible.
Senior MQM-P leader Syed Mustafa Kamal said that the Indian authorities had wrongly assumed that Pakistan had become weak due to internal political and economic challenges.
However, he added, the five days of Marka-e-Haq had demonstrated that Pakistan remains a vibrant and united nation. He stressed that during the conflict there were no ethnic or sectarian divisions, with all Pakistanis standing together as one nation.
Kamal said that India’s assumption that Pakistan relies solely on nuclear deterrence has also been disproven, adding that Pakistan demonstrated superior conventional warfare capabilities as well.
Senior MQM-P leader Dr Farooq Sattar described the conflict as far more than a border clash, terming it a comprehensive hybrid war. He said that India had attempted to isolate Pakistan through media campaigns, diplomatic pressure and negative propaganda, but India’s false narrative had collapsed by the grace of Allah.
Dr Sattar said that the humiliation of Indian pilot Abhinandan and the downing of enemy aircraft were not coincidences but evidence of Pakistan’s professional military expertise. He warned that those mistaking Pakistan’s desire for peace as weakness would ultimately invite their own destruction.
At the conclusion of the demonstration, participants paid tribute to the martyrs of the nation, and reiterated that the sacrifices made on the borders formed the foundation of Pakistan’s dignity and stability.
MQM-P leaders also pledged to transform the major military success into economic prosperity, stronger democracy and public welfare. The party declared that the people of Karachi have once again proven that the city is not only Pakistan’s economic hub but also an ideological and defensive stronghold of the country.
