Sindh police chief Javed Alam Odho said on Friday security agencies should establish training institutes and centers for the training of security guards.
The private security agencies should pay special attention to the verification, training and discipline of their guards so that the trust of citizens is restored, he said while chairing a meeting with a 4-member delegation of the All Pakistan Security Agencies Association at the Central Police Office in Karachi.
The delegation was headed by All Pakistan Security Agencies Association Chairman Major (retd) Munir Ahmed. Officials said that, the meeting was also attended by DIGs of Headquarters and Training, and the AIGs of Operations and Admin.
Inspector General of Police Odho said effective communication and exchange of information between the police and private security agencies can help in preventing crimes. During the meeting, the overall law and order situation in the province, security measures, weapons display, number and deployment of private security guards and other related matters were discussed in detail.
The meeting emphasized discouraging weapons display, effective training of guards and further improving their professional performance. The meeting agreed on the need for individual security and the importance of private security guard services for its effective achievement. A regular committee has been formed between the Sindh police and security agencies.
