KARACHI: The Pakistan Single Window (PSW) and Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to accelerate the digitalisation of Pakistan’s trade ecosystem.
The partnership aims to enhance regulatory efficiency and provide integrated digital services to exporters and importers.Under the agreement, the PSW will work with TDAP to harmonise export facilitation processes and integrate key digital platforms, including the Pakistan Trade Portal and the Exporters Directory, into the PSW system. The integration is intended to provide traders with real-time access to trade-related information and services, reducing reliance on manual processes.
TDAP, as the country’s main trade promotion body, will use its network of regional offices, trade associations and international links to identify stakeholders who can benefit from the PSW’s digital systems. It will also provide the PSW with space at flagship events to support outreach and promote paperless trade tools.
The two organisations will also collaborate on secure trade data sharing to support market analysis and evidence-based policymaking. This includes the development of export toolkits and compliance checklists to assist small and medium enterprises in meeting international requirements.
The MoU also focuses on gender-responsive trade facilitation. TDAP and the PSW will coordinate efforts to improve export readiness and digital inclusion for women-led enterprises, including participation in international exhibitions and trade delegations under TDAP’s annual programme.
