In a poignant demonstration of solidarity and remembrance, the Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology (SSUET) conducted a rally on Thursday to commemorate the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq, a pivotal moment in Pakistan’s recent history.
Officials said that organized by the Directorate of Students Affairs, the event attracted a substantial audience, featuring notable personalities from both academia and industry. Participants waved placards and national flags, passionately chanting “Pakistan Zindabad.” As the nation reflects on this important anniversary, it reaffirms its commitment to safeguarding its sovereignty and dignity against any future challenges.
Addressing the rally, Chancellor Sir Syed University Muhammad Akbar Ali Khan said that Marka-e-Haq translates to “The Wall of Truth,” which symbolizes Pakistan’s resilience and commitment to peace with dignity. The legacy of this movement was born from the fires of conflict quelled by unwavering determination during Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos, a 96-hour test of bravery that showcased the strength of the nation.
He pointed out that Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Defence Forces, played a pivotal role in this operation, demonstrating exceptional leadership and strategic insight. His ability to inspire and galvanize the armed forces not only protected Pakistan’s sovereignty but also conveyed a powerful message to the world: the nation’s pride is non-negotiable.
Chairperson Zakir Ali Khan Foundation Mrs Erum Akbar Ali Khan underscored that a year has passed since the Marka-e-Haq, but the echoes of Pakistan’s glorious victory against India are still heard in every corner of the world. Pakistan’s forces achieved a historic victory by giving a crushing response to Indian aggression and highlighting Pakistan’s military superiority at the global level. Bunyan-un-Marsoos was a unique and extraordinary operation of its kind, and our forces, under the astute, thoughtful, and professional leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, dealt the enemy a humiliating defeat by adopting the best defense strategy.
Vice Chancellor SSUET Prof Dr Muhammad Afzal Haque emphasized that Marka-e-Haq is more than a symbol of courage; it is a testament to Pakistan’s strength and commitment to peace. He noted that the spirit displayed during this pivotal moment continues to elevate Pakistan’s standing in the global community.
Registrar of SSUET, Cdre. ® Syed Sarfraz Ali, SI (M), said that Marka-e-Haq represents the undeniable victory of truth over deception. He highlighted the remarkable bravery and skill exhibited by the armed forces under Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir’s leadership, which left adversaries vulnerable and exposed.
