The University of Karachi and the National Highways and Motorways Police (NHMP) inked a memorandum of understanding at the KU’s Vice Chancellor Secretariat on Tuesday.
As per the MoU, the KU in collaboration with the NHMP will establish a Road Safety Society on the campus, aiming to engage students, faculty, and employees in awareness campaigns, research, and advocacy for safe road usage.
This MoU will help in educating students about traffic rules and safe driving practices. Both parties will organize seminars and workshops to create awareness. The KU and the NHMP believe that this MoU will encourage student participation in road safety initiatives. Both parties hope that it will help in reducing road accidents through awareness and training, and joint research could be conducted on traffic behaviour, engineering solutions, and policy recommendations.
