Minister inspects uplift works in Ichhra Bazaar

LAHORE: Minister for Housing and Urban Development Bilal Yasin visited Ichhra Bazaar and reviewed the ongoing upgrade and beautification work here on Tuesday.

On the occasion, LDA DG Tahir Farooq and LDA Chief Engineer Mazhar Hussain briefed that overall 85pc of the work has been completed, while the remaining work is progressing rapidly. Minister Bilal Yasin directed that the upgradation and beautification project of Ichhra Bazaar be completed within the current month. He stated the historic Ichhra Bazaar of Lahore is being upgraded with modern facilities. After completion of development works, the market will be counted among the most beautiful markets in the country. He said that Ichhra Bazaar has been made safe and convenient for shopping for women, children, and families.

Meanwhile, Commissioner Marryam Khan and DC Ali Ijaz visited Ichhra Bazaar and reviewed the ongoing works. Chief Engineer, LDA, Director Architect and Project Director gave a briefing. He said that the facade upgrade of the shops and plazas of Ichhra Bazaar, wiring is being done underground, the upgrade and uniform development of the market is being done, beautiful and durable tuff tiles and pavers are also being installed in the market.
