LAHORE: Pakistan’s Test captain Babar Azam and fast bowler Khurram Shahzad have reached Bangladesh for the two-match Test series.
According to details, members of the supporting staff also reached Dhaka on Tuesday, while players who had already arrived took part in a training session the previous day. The squad held its first practice session at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, where players engaged in batting and bowling nets, physical drills, and a dedicated fielding session to sharpen their skills.
The series marks an important assignment for the Green Shirts, who will face Bangladesh in the first Test starting May 8. With Babar Azam’s arrival, Pakistan’s batting unit gains its most experienced anchor, while Khurram Shahzad’s inclusion bolsters the pace attack.
The team’s early focus on conditioning and match readiness reflects the significance of the series, which forms part of the ICC World Test Championship cycle. Pakistan will be aiming to start strongly in Dhaka before moving to Sylhet for the second Test later in the month.
