KARACHI: Pakistan Women delivered a record-breaking performance to defeat Zimbabwe Women by 168 runs in the opening ODI of the three-match series at the National Bank Stadium on Monday night.

Batting first, Pakistan posted a massive 330-5 in 50 overs, the highest women’s ODI total at the venue. Openers Sadaf Shamas and Gull Feroza laid a solid foundation with a 162-run partnership, the second-highest opening stand for Pakistan in women’s ODIs.

Sadaf Shamas top-scored with a composed 98 off 130 balls, striking 17 boundaries, while Gull Feroza added a fluent 50 off 60 deliveries, including five fours. The middle order further strengthened the innings, with Sidra Amin scoring 67 off 59 balls, hitting nine fours.

Najiha Alvi played an aggressive unbeaten knock of 56 off just 30 balls, which included eight fours and a six. She also registered the fastest half-century in Pakistan Women’s ODI history, reaching the milestone in just 24 deliveries.
