LAHORE: The Punjab Sports Department, under the directions of Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar, will host the ‘Marka-e-Haq Games 2026’ from May 6 to 9.
The event is designed to commemorate Pakistan’s historic victory against arch-rivals India and will feature a series of high-profile competitions across multiple disciplines. Sharing details of the program, Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi confirmed that the opening fixture will be the Marka-e-Haq Hockey Match, scheduled for May 6 at 5:00 pm at the National Hockey Stadium. The following day, on May 7 at 5:00 pm, the Marka-e-Haq Karate Championship will take place at the Nishtar Park Sports Complex Gymnasium Hall, showcasing martial arts talent from across the province.
On May 8 the spotlight will shift to the Marka-e-Haq Cycling Race, which will be staged at the Central Business District (CBD), Main Boulevard Road, bringing together elite cyclists in a thrilling contest. The closing event, the Marka-e-Haq Sher-e-Lahore Dangal, will be held on May 9 at 5:00 pm at the Punjab Stadium, Nishtar Park Sports Complex, highlighting traditional wrestling and celebrating local sporting heritage.
The four-day festival reflects Punjab’s commitment to honoring historic sporting triumphs while promoting diverse athletic disciplines. With hockey, karate, cycling, and wrestling all featured, the Marka-e-Haq Games 2026 are set to provide both competitive excitement and cultural resonance, reinforcing the province’s dedication to nurturing sports at every level.
