Punjab to build open playfields in 500 parks

LAHORE: Open area gyms and playfields will be built in 500 parks across the Punjab province and CM Khelta Punjab Health Insurance Card will be issued under which top class health facilities will be provided to thousands of athletes.

Secretary Sports Punjab Fazlur Rehman shared this information while presiding over a meeting of Departmental Development Sub-Committee (DDSC) at the Punjab Stadium on Monday. A total of 9 sports and youth affairs schemes were approved in the meeting.

DG Sports Punjab Tariq Qureshi and DG Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) Sajid Latif participated in the meeting in which officers of P&D and Finance Department were also present. DG PITB and his team gave a briefing regarding e-sports and the establishment of the lab.

Addressing the meeting, Secretary Sports Punjab said that CM Youth Engagement Programme is being launched. “We are going to start an e-sports programme and establish E-Sports Lab. The participation in e-Sports World Cup 2026 is our target”.
