LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal Khokhar in his Labour Day message on Friday said that Labour Day teaches us the value of hard work, honesty and sacrifice.
“The Punjab government is committed to empowering labourers. Several essential measures have been taken to implement labour-friendly policies in the Labour Department”.
The minister said that labourers are the backbone of Pakistan’s economy and Punjab government is taking effective measures for the welfare of working class.
Faisal said that strict rules and regulations have been enforced to ensure implementation of law of minimum wages and the registration of labourers has been significantly increased.
He said that several welfare measures were taken for the workers and their children under the Workers Welfare Fund. “Access of workers to health and education facilities was improved to a great extent during the last couple of years.”
