LAHORE: International Labour Day was observed nationwide under the All Pakistan Federation of Trade Unions, with rallies held to honour workers’ sacrifices here on Friday.

At a rally outside Bakhtiar Labour Hall, General Secretary Khurshid Ahmed called on government to address inflation, lift the recruitment ban, enforce labour laws, and increase wages, including raising the minimum wage to Rs60,000.

Participants also demanded an end to child and bonded labour, improved workplace safety, and protection of workers’ rights, and paid tribute to labour movement martyrs.
