PESHAWAR: Pakistan Bar Council Vice Chairman Pir Masood Chishti on Friday called for supremacy of the judiciary and unity among lawyers to address the challenges by faced by the legal fraternity.

Addressing a convention of lawyers organized by the Independent Group, Pir Masood Chishti announced that the presidency of the Supreme Court Bar Association had been allocated to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He said that Syed Amjad Shah had been unanimously nominated as the presidential candidate. Supreme Court Bar Association President Haroon Rashid while speaking on the occasion stated that the Independent Group had always risen above politics and worked for the welfare of lawyers and the supremacy of the judiciary.
