PESHAWAR: The All Primary Teachers Association of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa staged a protest outside the Peshawar Press Club in support of their demands.

A large number of teachers participated in the demonstration, led by Provincial President Azizullah Khan along with other office-bearers. They carried placards and banners inscribed with their demands.

Speaking on the occasion, the leaders said their issues had remained unresolved for years despite repeated protests and negotiations, adding that government promises had yet to be fulfilled.

They pointed out that the upgradation notification approved by the previous government has still not been issued. Additionally, concerns such as the outsourcing of primary schools, the regularization of teachers, and other key matters remain unaddressed.

The association demanded the immediate issuance of the approved upgradation notification, an end to the outsourcing of primary schools, and a reduction in the academic burden on students by limiting the number of books to four. They also called for granting GP Fund rights to teachers regularized under the Regularization Act 2022 and the inclusion of those left out due to “administrative negligence.”
