ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Islamabad Zone, has significantly intensified its operations against proclaimed offenders and court absconders following the direct instructions of Director Syed Shahzad Nadeem Bukhari (PSP).

To ensure maximum efficacy, all circle in-charges have established specialised task forces dedicated to the apprehension of these fugitives, with progress monitored through mandatory weekly performance reports.

The agency is currently executing a sophisticated, multi-dimensional strategy to track down suspects. This involves the systematic retrieval of records from Nadra, analysis of passport and travel histories and formal placement of offenders on the Blacklist and Passport Control List (PCL).

On the financial front, the FIA is scrutinising bank accounts and tracing both movable and immovable assets, while simultaneously initiating judicial proceedings under Section 88 of the Code of Criminal Procedure for the attachment of property. For those evading justice overseas, the agency is coordinating with Interpol and utilising mobile data from the PTA for precise location tracing.

Recent operational data highlights the success of this crackdown across various sectors. The Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Islamabad has successfully arrested three offenders while identifying 62 others located abroad, while the Rawalpindi wing of the same circle apprehended four individuals. The Anti-Corruption Circle in Islamabad reported the arrest of five fugitives and identified another 18 residing outside the country. Additionally, the Commercial Banks Circle secured two arrests, and the Corporate Crime Circle successfully tracked three suspects currently located in foreign jurisdictions.
