RAWALPINDI: The Special Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Wednesday adjourned hearings in multiple high-profile cases, including seven cases against former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan, due to the judge’s absence.
The court rescheduled the hearings of the seven cases against Imran Khan for May 13 without any proceedings. It also adjourned the hearing of an acquittal petition filed by former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry to May 19.
Separately, the court deferred until May 6 the hearing of a petition concerning permission for Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmed to travel abroad.
According to court officials, the adjournments were necessitated as the presiding judge was on leave, leaving the cases unaddressed during the scheduled hearing. Fawad Chaudhry’s acquittal plea pertains to cases registered in connection with the events of May 9.
