PESHAWAR: The opening ceremony of the International Conference on Multidisciplinary Research in Basic Science and Technology (ICMRBST-2026) was held at Islamia College Peshawar on Wednesday.
The event was attended by Muhammad Farooq, Dr Ghazala Ali Khan, Dr Yasir Iqbal Yousafzai, Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Ahmadur Rahman Saljoqi, Registrar Dr Mansoor Jalali, and ORIC Director and Dr Safeer Ahmad Arbab.
Speakers at the inaugural session highlighted the growing importance of modern scientific research and technological advancement in line with contemporary global needs. They stressed the need to strengthen academic linkages among universities internationally and to equip young researchers and students with skills aligned with global standards.
The speakers said that such international conferences play a vital role in promoting academic and research activities while preparing the younger generation to meet the challenges of modern science and technology.
A large number of faculty members, national and international researchers, and students attended the opening ceremony. The participants appreciated the efforts of the college administration, particularly the ORIC team, and described the conference as an important milestone in the province’s academic history.
