PESHAWAR: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police in connection with a custodial torture and death case.
According to FIA officials, ASI Attaullah, posted at Shahpur Police Station, was taken into custody under FIR No. 50/2025. The case was registered on allegations of custodial torture.The agency official said that the victim, identified as Taimur Manzoor, was allegedly subjected to torture while in police custody. It added that the victim later died due to the injuries sustained during detention. Officials stated that the station house officer and the investigation officer have also been nominated in the case. The FIA confirmed that more investigation into the incident was underway.
