The Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) has acted swiftly to contain a citywide water disruption after an unexpected power breakdown by K-Electric at the Dhabeji Pumping Station, offering a measure of reassurance to residents affected by the outage.
Officials said on Tuesday the sudden loss of the electricity supply, attributed to K-Electric, impacted critical installations at the Dhabeji facility, damaging key water transmission lines and interrupting supply to several densely populated areas.
The spokesperson highlighted that the neighborhoods, including Landhi, Shah Faisal Colony, Korangi, Malir, Chanesar, Jinnah, Saddar Town and Clifton, experienced disruptions as a result of the incident, underscoring the central role the Dhabeji station plays in Karachi’s water distribution network.
