Hamdard University launches Sports Week

KARACHI: Hamdard University sports week which began Monday will continue till Thursday.

This four-day event will feature competitions in a total of 13 indoor and outdoor sports, along with additional activities including wrestling, an auto show, and food stalls. The purpose of this event is to promote healthy activities among students, enhance their physical and mental development, and strengthen team spirit within the institution.

The sports competitions scheduled during Sports Week include tape ball cricket, football, futsal (girls), basketball, badminton, table tennis, throwball, volleyball, Ludo, chess, tug of war, 100-meter race, and 400-meter relay race.

The final matches and key events will take place on Thursday (tomorrow). The Chancellor of the University, Ms. Sadia Rashid, will attend as the Chief Guest.

While addressing the opening ceremony, Vice Chancellor of Hamdard University, Prof. Dr. Imran Amin, said Sports Week is an excellent co-curricular activity that plays a vital role in improving students’ physical and mental health. It generates enthusiasm among students and encourages them to engage in positive activities.
