PESHAWAR: A quarterly report on terrorism incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has revealed a sharp security challenge, with hundreds of cases registered across the province in the first three months of the year.
According to a report compiled by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of the police and obtained by Geo News, a total of 475 terrorism cases were registered in 14 districts during the period under review.
The documents revealed that 1,427 suspects were nominated in these cases. Of them, 107 were arrested, while 85 militants were killed during various operations.The report noted that 1,235 individuals named in terrorism-related cases were placed on the Fourth Schedule to ensure strict monitoring of their activities.
In terms of casualties, the data showed that 71 police personnel were martyred and 68 injured in terrorism incidents.
The Frontier Corps (FC) also suffered losses, with 27 personnel martyred and 45 injured. Additionally, 21 personnel from other security forces were martyred, while 66 sustained injuries.The report stated that 67 civilians were martyred and 298 injured in different incidents of terrorism. At the district level, Bannu remained the worst-affected area with 92 reported incidents.
