CHITRAL: The spiritual leader of the Ismaili community, Prince Rahim Aga Khan, is scheduled to visit the northern areas of Pakistan from May 20 to May 26.

During his visit, he would spend two days in both districts of Chitral where he would give an audience to his followers.Preparations for the visit have been underway for nearly two months, with decoration and arrangements at designated venues in Parwak Lasht in Upper Chitral and Garam Chashma in Lower Chitral now in their final stages.

More than 600 volunteers are actively engaged in organising the events at both locations.Officials at the Garam Chashma venue said the site has the capacity to accommodate up to 65,000 people, with separate enclosures arranged for men and women.

Temporary facilities, including drinking water supply and washrooms, are also being set up to facilitate attendees. Around 100 volunteers are performing night security duties to ensure safety at the venues.A helipad has also been constructed near the Garam Chashma site. The land for the venue was generously provided free of cost by a former accountant, Shahzad Taimur.
